What the score means
- Below 18: traditionally not recommended.
- 18–24: acceptable.
- 25–32: very good.
- 33–36: excellent and rare.
Two people born in the same Nakshatra score 28: everything matches except Nadi.
Nadi, Bhakoot and Gana dosha
Nadi dosha occurs when both share the same Nadi (0 of 8 points). Bhakoot dosha occurs when the Moon signs are 2/12, 5/9 or 6/8 from each other. Astrologers recognise exceptions that cancel these doshas, for example the same Rashi with different Nakshatras, or friendly Moon-sign lords. Our Kundli Milan tool flags these automatically.
How accurate is an online calculation?
The Guna score depends only on the Moon's position. Our tool calculates it astronomically and converts it with the Lahiri ayanamsa used by Indian panchangs; we have checked it against NASA JPL data to within a fraction of a minute of birth time. The place of birth sets the time zone and is essential for the Lagna and Manglik check. The birth time you enter matters most, so use the time on the birth certificate if you can.
